Smart Earrings for Women’s Health: From Prototype to Commercial-Ready

Industry - Healthcare/MedTech

Improving accuracy, BLE reliability, and battery performance across the smart earring, charging case, and companion app.

Background

A women’s health wearable company was building smart earrings for continuous physiological monitoring with a companion mobile app. As they moved from prototype to commercialization, they needed better measurement consistency, stable BLE syncing across the earring and charging case, and stronger battery performance in a compact form factor.

Outcomes

  • Improved HRV and SpO₂ accuracy to within 1% versus a CE-approved reference device
  • Stabilized BLE communication and synchronization across the smart earring, charging case, and companion app
  • Achieved 24-hour battery backup without increasing device size
  • Delivered an end-to-end MVP including hardware, firmware, and Android and iOS app integration with historical visualization and device health monitoring
